We just launched the a first draft version of reporting in the “Enhanced View” beta, including the ability to search by app, doc, site, user, etc, specify time ranges, select sub-OUs and more. For each type, you will be able to see both a summary and detailed information.

If you are interested in testing the functionality and providing feedback, please respond to this email or email me at cody@goguardian.com and we can get you on the beta!

    Thank you!

allow, for those of us with the interest, access to some sort of report builder so we can generate anything we want.

    this would be HUGE
I spend so much time either explaining to a POed teacher that what she is trying to do RIGHT now is blocked and she needed to check with me first, OR checking on lists of items that are already unblocked for teachers who did the right thing and submitted them in advance.
If the teachers could check on their own, they would only submit in advance those items that are blocked.
    a simplified design:
    1) in the policy, have a checkbox that says "include this policy on check page"
    2) on the check page, a text entry that allows a url to be placed and then a list that says clocked/open next to each of the listed OUs/policies/whathaveyou

Thanks for pushing for an improvement in our filtering. As a first step, we just released an algorithm to do automatic website categorization for the three most requested categories – “pornography”, “online games”, and “movies and television”. Thus, if a student accesses an uncategorized site, we check the content on each page and add it to the above categories automatically if the content matches.

What this means for you: considering that there are thousands of websites created every day specifically to circumvent URL blocking, category blacklisting will be more effective in blocking new and uncategorized sites. In addition, you should be able to spend less time manually tracking new sites that are getting around the filter and adding them to our and your blacklists.

We are currently categorizing 2000+ sites every day that students are visiting that would get around any list or database type filter. Please let me know…

instead of general update (which needs to happen anyway) please allow us to subscribe to filter lists that are open source.
For instance, a lot of good malware filter lists exist and are updated daily.

Thanks for the request. You can currently add wildcards to your blacklist, such as * 123movies * (without the spaces, this forum converts the text to bold if I move them next to the word) which would block all the variations of 123movies – 123movies.com, 123movies.click, 123movies.co.au, 123movies.xyz, 123movies.io, etc. Is this what you are looking for?

    Joshua Bierman commented  ·

according to ICANN there are 1215 GTLDs with another 89 in the pipeline.
default block would be nice, defualt block with check box to remove fromt he blocklist would be REALLY nice.

We know that one of the things that is most important when investigating concerns about student browsing is the ability to export their browsing history so you can help inform others about the event. In Admin 2.0, you now have the ability to export up to the last 6 months of a student’s history in a single request!

Thanks for providing feedback on new feature suggestions. While we don’t have it as a specific feature, you can accomplish this by adding the following sites to your custom blacklist:

    accounts.google.com/Logout
    accounts.youtube.com/accounts/Logout2
    accounts.google.com/AddSession

Please keep in mind that if you have Google.com added to your Whitelist this workaround will not work.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for your feedback! Sorting is in our development roadmap and we’ll let you know when it gets started.

FYI: The current sorting algorithm is pretty close to Total # of Hours used over the past 7 days.

We are in the research stage now to understand the best repair process (from beginning to end) to meet your needs. Providing a tracking and ticketing process is part of this flow and will be started soon!

If you have any additional feedback or want a sneak peek at the new process once we finalize it, please respond to this email and let me know. Thanks!

Each repair now has a “Responsible User” attribute that you can modify in case the student that was assigned wasn’t the one that broke the device.
