schedule classes so the session automatically starts and ends with class schedule and so teachers do not have to manually start sessions.
We’ve released this feature! You can learn all about it here: http://press.goguardian.com/scheduling-classroom-sessions
Nicole, We will definitely be adding more fine-grained control of start and end times in the future.
Steve, Good call! We'll get started on that!

What a great feature! But why does it end at 2pm? Please extend this by at least an hour.

Our classes end at odd times and never at a 10 minute mark. Is it possible to decrease the increments to 5 minutes or all teachers to type whatever time they need?
You will definitely be able to manually start sessions! Scheduling is completely optional. Even if you have scheduled sessions for a class, you will still be able to start a session manually (as long as another session is not started for the same class).
Raymond, we allow IT Admins to set limits on when teachers can start a class. These can be both time limits and IP limits. Scheduling will abide by these rules. If an IT Admin has set a time restriction, a scheduled session will not start outside of that time range. We take student privacy very seriously. Thanks for voicing your concern!

I am a golf coach and I am gone A LOT. It would be nice to be able to cross reference my sub notes with the Go Guardian timelines for the class period so I can see what students were on when they were supposed to be doing something else. I know I can go on the Admin side and check what sites they were on, but it would be nice if I could just check the session and see the timeline.

Not a fan of this proposal.
It poses great legal threat especially when you forget to turn it off because school was canceled for some reason. Ie, snow day. Monitoring outside of school hours can be considered an invasion of privacy. You do not want the lawsuit. Take 2 seconds and make it a habit.

Even for the manually started sessions, it would be nice to be able to set specific start and end times, rather than just saying how long you want to be on the session.

@MARK VON BOKERN - I imagine that manual start would remain an option. I am really looking forward to this update. Hopefully, it is ready soon.

. . . however winter weather often causes school start times to be delayed, which would have classes starting at other than the regular times. My preference is to manually start GoGuardian whenever I need it.

I am home with my daughter who is sick. It would be nice if I could monitor my students from home as the sessions are set to automatically start and stop. Even though I am not at school today, I can still see what they are doing, but I have to manually start and stop the sessions :/

I like this idea

I agree...that would be helpful!

We need to be able to schedule both Daily and Reoccurring. Our teachers don't have the same schedule M-F.

This would be very useful if you know you are going to be out with a substitute. You could just set the session in advance without having to worry about remembering to do it from a remote location or possibly being unable to do it because you're otherwise occupied.

It would be nice to have set up a time range for a day instead of starting session at beginning of class.
For example: Every Monday, Block 1 is turned on from 8:25 - 9:50 am

For instance, instead of having teachers manually start the session for each class each day, create the sessions based off of the time of the class and have that time reoccur weekdays.
